Volume was steady as another 56 rice contracts were traded.
"Prices could not stay at that high level for long as they were pushed up by technical and psychological factors, not fundamentals," said one broker
The most active January contract closed at 9.54 baht per kg, down from 9.60 baht on Friday as the number of contracts traded rose to 33 from 25.
Thailand, the world biggest rice producer and exporter, started its first rice futures trade on August 26 with five percent white rice, which was quoted in the physical market on Monday at around 9.2 baht per kg.
November, January, March, May and July contracts are offered.
Trading hours are 10.30-12.00 (0330-0500 GMT), the same as for trading in rubber contracts, the first offered by the futures market when it opened in May.
